Friendship Beyond Borders:
A Story the World Needs Today

Who We Are

A story of friendship stronger than conflict.

We are Akram Telawe and Ronny Wertheimer—two lifelong friends, artists, and storytellers who have spent over 40 years bridging cultures through human connection.

Akram, born in Taibeh in 1964, is a theater actor, opera director, and marketing professional with global experience.

Ronny, born in Tel Aviv in 1965, is a theater actor, radio broadcaster, music editor, and cultural lecturer.

We met as teenagers, coming from different worlds—Arab and Jewish—and yet, our bond grew stronger through art, creativity, and mutual respect. Our friendship remained a quiet testament to what is possible in a region divided by politics and history.

Today, we want to share that story with the world.

Where Our Journey Has Taken Us So Far…

Why This Project?

For decades, we lived our lives side by side, each pursuing personal and artistic dreams. Despite the tensions around us, we built families, careers, and a lasting friendship that ignored political and cultural divisions.

Now, as society becomes more fragmented than ever, we realize that our journey is not just personal—it holds a message the world urgently needs to hear: genuine relationships can overcome even the deepest divides.

Through our project, we want to inspire new thinking, foster empathy, and offer an authentic story of coexistence, humor, and hope.

The Performance

We are creating a theatrical-musical performance that blends:

Our personal stories against the backdrop of cultural conflict.

Original and existing texts and new musical compositions.

Humor and theater to reveal the beauty and absurdity of life

Our goal is to build a vibrant, human alternative to the narratives of despair—and to show how art, culture, and true friendship can spark real change.
